Biography:
Valkyrie, as portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a formidable Asgardian warrior. This version of the character first appeared in the movie Thor: Ragnarok (2017), played by actress Tessa Thompson.
Initially a member of the Valkyrior, an elite group of female warriors serving Odin, she was defeated in battle against Hela, an event which left her disillusioned and led her to self-imposed exile on Sakaar. There, she became a scavenger known as Scrapper 142.
Valkyrie's path intersects with Thor's, and she eventually aids him in his fight against Hela, returning to Asgardian duty. Following the destruction of Asgard, she helps lead its people. By the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, she holds the position of King of New Asgard.
